Technical Information

We travel by land for many engagements bringing our stage, sound, lights and marionettes to your venue. The shows are compact and can also travel by air (with lighting equipment if needed). When we travel by air we need a sound system and often a riser on the stage.

For long distances we require block bookings or a contract for several performances. We can also connect a performance for you in a future tour, if we know you are interested!

If you have any questions about anything you find on our website or would like to book a performance please email us or call (902) 893-7626.

Technical Requirements: Theatre Venue

We provide:
  • Sound System
  • Lighting System
  • 50-minute performance (plus optional questions/short discussion)
Loading:

When there are stairs or a raised loading door into the auditorium, two to four adult helpers are required to load and unload equipment (an average load-in or out takes 5-10 minutes). Please provide parking nearby the stage entrance for the van.

Arrival Time:

2 hours and 30 minutes before the start of a public performance.

Load-Out Time:

Begins 45 minutes after the end of the performance.

Stage, Electrical & Hall:

We require a clean (mopped and swept) stage not less than 24 feet wide by 14 feet deep.

If available, risers, (minimum 20 feet wide by 8 feet deep) are generally needed for better viewing. Usually, the risers are positioned centre stage near the front curtain or just behind the fire curtain, please discuss this with the performers.

Two electrical outlets, on separate circuits.
The receptacles to be placed stage left and another stage right. near the front curtain.

Drinking water to be provided for the 2 performers.

When there are stairs to the loading door or the auditorium, two to four adult helpers are required to help load and unload equipment (an average load-in or out takes 5-10 minutes). Please, check that access to the loading door is clear and reasonably free of ice and snow in the winter.

Arrival Time:

1 hour and 15 minutes before the start of a school performance.
2 hours and 30 minutes before the start of a public performance.

Load-Out Time:

Begins 45 minutes after the end of the performance.

Stage, Electrical & Hall:

We require a clean (mopped and swept) stage not less than 24 feet wide by 14 feet deep.
Our portable stage is used when the venue is without a stage.

Windows to be covered (blackout enhances performance).
Basketball net in front of the stage to be raised.

Two electrical outlets, on separate circuits.
The receptacles must be accessible (free of chairs, tables, boxes etc). Loud fans or air exchange systems, bells and announcements to be turned off in gym during the performance (if possible).

Drinking water to be provided for the 2 performers.

Seating:

For school performances in gymnasiums, the students are seated on the floor, visitors and teachers in chairs along the sides. When the existing stage is lower than 3 feet, or we are using our portable stage, it is usually preferable to arrange this additional seating to improve the viewing:

a) a row of benches, at the back of the audience.

b) two rows of chairs, behind the benches.

THANK YOU AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO PERFORMING FOR YOU!
